Singles cohorts are designed to create new channels, new friendships and develop our skills for God.
Churches do a great job at addressing the needs of families, but in the process, tend to overlook the needs of singles. There are events and gatherings designed for younger singles to connect, but as one gets older, it becomes more difficult to connect as friends get married and have children. The older single is left to fend for himself/herself in terms of finding a community that doesn't revolve around "children talk".
Singles committed to making an impact in God's kingdom are an untapped resource that the Church needs to recognize, encourage and provide social opportunities to connect with other singles committed to the Lordship of Christ. Many godly men and women remain single because they have chosen to not "compromise their values" just for the "sake of getting married".
